Enroll your student at OCASA

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at Orange County Academy of Arts and Sciences for the 2021-22 school year. We understand how important it is to find the right educational program for your child, and appreciate your consideration of OCASA as your school of choice.

OCASA is accepting applications for students from K to 5th grade at OCASA Charter in Laguna Niguel and for 6th grade to 10th grade at OCASA College Prep in San Juan Capistrano.

As tuition-free public charter schools, we must follow the guidelines outlined in our charter petitions regarding admission and enrollment of students. The process explained below was designed to provide a fair opportunity for all students to apply to our school, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, home language, or disability.

OCASA's open enrollment period for the 2021-22 school year begins January 4, 2021 and ends March 1, 2021 at 5 pm. During this time, we accept applications for new students who wish to attend our schools. Students who are continuing within each school do not need to apply again. However, students moving from OCASA Charter to OCASA College Prep do need to complete an application for the 2021-22 school year.

There are four simple steps to become an OCASA Student:

Due to COVID-19 protocols, OCASA will not be able to offer in person tours and open houses. However, we offer a variety of alternative ways for Parents to learn about our schools:

Attend a Virtual School Tour

Both OCASA Charter (K-5) and OCASA College Prep (6-10) are offering an on-demand Virtual School Tour. The Virtual Tours will provide a short glimpse into the classrooms at campus. The tours may be accessed here:

Attend a Virtual Open House

OCASA will be holding multiple virtual open house sessions during the open enrollment period. During the Virtual Open Houses, each school’s Principal will be providing an in-depth presentation about our educational program. The virtual open house videos can be accessed through the following links:

Once you have learned about our schools and have decided to apply, please complete an application online. The application window opens on January 4, 2021 at 12:00 am. Applications completed by March 1, 2021 at 5 pm will be included in our lottery. Applications received after the deadline will be placed on the wait list on a first come first served basis.

OCASA will hold a random public lottery to determine enrollment for new students on April 14, 2021, at 3 pm. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend the lottery, but attendance not required. Students who are not offered admission during the lottery will be placed on the waitlist.  The lottery will be live streamed on Facebook Live.

A notice of the lottery results will be emailed to all applicants by May 1, 2021.

Upon acceptance, an Online Enrollment Package must be completed which includes, but is not limited to, admissions information, records release form, home language survey, health history questionnaire, birth verification, a copy of the most current immunization and a copy of the student's IEP or 504 plan, if applicable.

No student will be denied admission to OCASA Charter or OCASA College Prep based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, home language, or disability.

The deadline for completing the Online Enrollment Package is June 1, 2021. Students who do not complete the Online Enrollment Package by the deadline will decline their spot.  We will offer the spot to a student on the waitlist.
